Dadar Gulung is stuffed pancake roll. Dadar is a Javanese and Indonesian word for ‘pancake’. Gulung means ‘to roll’ or ‘to be rolled’. Sweet beans, peanuts, or grated coconut are wrapped inside the pancake/crepes.
The crepes have green color from Suji leaves or Pandan. Dadar Gulung can be eaten for breakfast or as a snack to accompany your afternoon coffee and tea time.
Pandan is a herbaceous tropical plant with long green leaves. In Southeast Asia, pandan leaves are used to lend a unique taste and aroma to many Indonesian desserts and some drinks. Pandan leaves can also be used to wrap savory foods, such as chicken (see recipe links below). Pandan paste is used in cakes and desserts, as it is sweet and imbues foods with a bright green color. It can be purchased as a ready-to-use paste in Asian specialty stores. Bahan[1. Ingredients]
Untuk dadar[2.crepe/pancake] :
150 gr tepung terigu[3. fluor]
1 butir telur dikocok[4. beat] sebentar[5. few minutes]
1/4 sendok teh[6. tea spoon] garam
25 cc air daun suji (daun pandan atau pasta pandan)[7. suji/pandan leaves or Pandan Paste]
200cc santan[8. coconut milk] dari 1/2 butir kelapa
Untuk isi[9. filling] :
1/3 butir kelapa diparut[10. grated]
150 gr gula merah[11. palm sugar] atau[12. or] 100 gr gula pasir[13. sugar]
100 cc air
1 lembar daun pandan
1/4 sendok teh garam[14. salt]
Cara membuat :
- Isi : Aduk[15. mix] bahan untuk isi menjadi satu, masak[16. cook] sampai matang[17. cooked] dan air habis[18. water is absorbed]
- Dadar : Campur[19. combine] tepung, telur, garam dan air daun suji. Masukkan santan sedikit demi sedikit sambil diaduk, sampai adonan[20. mixture] halus[21. soft].
- Panaskan wajan[21. pan] dadar dengan garis tengah[22. diameter] 20 cm. Olesi[23. spread] margarine. Tuang adonan dadar tipis-tipis[24. spoon the batter thinly into the pan] sampai merata[25. evenly]. Setelah matang, diisi lalu digulung[26. Fill each cooked crepe with the filling].
