Apakah and -kah

Interrogative and Sentence Types

Putting particle –kah on the object, subject or action in question;

  • Kamu sudah makankah?
  • Have you eaten? or Did you eat?

Using the word apa or ‘apakah’ in the beginning;

  • Apakah kamu sudah makan? 
  • Have you eaten? or Did you eat?

In casual conversation you can drop the word ‘apakah’.

  • Kamu sudah makan? 
  • Have you eaten? or Did you eat?

Sometime people shorten ‘apakah‘ to just ‘apa‘.

  • Apa kamu sudah makan? 
  • Have you eaten? or Did you eat?
