If a yes/no question has sudah in it, usually you answer “yes” by repeating the word sudah, and you answer “no” by saying belum. In casual conversation you can drop the question word ‘apakah’.
- Apakah Anda sudah kawin? Belum.
- Are you married? No.
- Apakah Tanti sudah makan? Sudah.
- Has Tanti had anything to eat yet? Yes, she has.
