Locative pronouns sini (here – near speaker), sana (there – far off) and situ (there – not far off) indicate position in relation to the speaker. The combination of the three locative prepositions di, ke and dari with these pronouns produces a nine-way distinction of location and direction.
sini
- di sini – (at) here
- ke sini – to here
- dari sini – from here
sana
- di sana – (at) there
- ke sana – to there(close)
- dari sana – from there(far)
situ
- di situ – (at) there
- ke situ – to there(close)
- dari situ – from there(far)
Ke sini has the same meaning as ‘kemari‘. It is written as a single word because ‘mari‘ does not occur with other locative prepositions.
